Welcome to PumpHVAC.com, a source for quickly sourcing troubleshooting/ technical information on Grundfos Magna 3 and larger commercial series pumps. Based in Denmark and manufactured globally (including the US), Grundfos is known worldwide to offer the most technologically advanced heating, cooling and plumbing packaged systems.
One of the reasons why the Grundfos is the world leader in pumping technology is that they are a vertical manufacturer. They research, design, engineer and build their own proprietary MLE series high efficient permanent magnet motors (ECM’s), VFDs, proprietary self-optimizing AutoAdapt® logic and control mode software.
As standard options, Grundfos advanced logic pumps include built-in differential pressure sensors, custom ECM’s (up to 15HP) non-overloading motors, thermal protection, Bluetooth alternating lead-lag wireless connection, Grundfos Go App control capabilities, low water shut off and two levels of BMS inputs with multiple protocol options such as BACnet, Lonworks etc.
Pictured above are six space saving multi-stage CRE-DPs on a custom fabricated stand as part of an Efficiency Vermont Grundfos pump energy upgrade in partnership with Urell. The project re-placed dozens of Taco and B&G pumps at the Veterans Administration Hospital located in White River Junction, Vermont.
The results were dramatic energy savings as shown below, increased patient comfort and of elimination maintenance repair costs due to the MLE modern motor design of incorporating proprietary cartridge seals and elimination of pump industry standard of using mechanical seals that leak.
If you would like to have a pump survey done at your facility to estimate potential energy savings, contact Urell or your local Grundfos rep agency.
